Despite recent reports to the contrary, Jessica Simpson has now denied that she’s datin John Mayer and claims the two of them are just friends.

Jessica appeared on The View yesterday and was interviewed by new co-host Rosie O’Donnell.

Rosie asked “is everything going good for you, you’re in a good place, you’re happy…’” and Jessica confirmed “I’m in a really good place…”

Rosie then asked about the tabloid rumours about Jessica and John which made Jessica laugh and replied: “I love it that she just goes right there…. I’m actually not dating John Mayer.”

“And [the tabloids] put this quote saying that I’m in love! You know, he’s my friend, I’ve known him for a couple years.”

John had previously posted a message to his blog suggesting to fans “don’t believe the hype”.
