David Beckham accidentally suggested wife Victoria was pregnant with their fourth child on Monday when he misheard a question from a Spanish journalist.

David was filmed signing autographs outside Real Madrid’s training ground when a Spanish tv reporter asked if “Is it true that you’re going to be a father?”

David misunderstood the question, thinking he was being asked about the couple’s existing children, and said “yes” before confirming that he is “happy” and that Victoria is “good, thanks”.

David only seemed to notice his error when the journalist asked “would you prefer a boy or a girl?” but he just smiled, not knowing what to say.

A spokesperson for the couple has stated: “she’s not pregnant, it’s as simple as that.”

The couple have been rumoured to be trying for a fourth child since England were knocked out of the World Cup in June this year. They already have three sons: Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.
