Paris Hilton has been arrested and charged with drink driving after being spotted for driving erratically in the early hours of this (Thursday) morning.

Paris had reportedly attended a charity function, a Us Weekly party and a nightclub over the course of Wednesday evening but according to publicist Elliot Mintz, only had one drink, a margarita, over the entire evening.

Paris was stopped at 12.31am while driving herself and Kimberly Stewart home and found to have a blood alcohol level of .08, which is the minimum level for a driving under the influence charge in California.

Paris was taken to a police station in Hollywood and charged before being allowed to leave just after 2am.

Paris told TMZ that she “regrets it occurred” and blamed not eating or resting for 24 hours due to being busy filming a music video.

If found guilty, Paris could be given three months’ probation, be ordered into an alcohol programme or have her driving licence restricted for up to 90 days.
