Elle Macpherson reportedly hit the roof when she found out Claudia Schiffer had arrived before her at the Elle magazine 21st birthday party on Thursday.

According to the Mirror, Elle refused to take off her coat because she was worried her black dress wasn’t as impressive as Claudia’s silver Versace gown and then was heard moaning about her hair.

A fellow party-goer heard her say: “I know my hair is great, I love my hair. But Claudia’s looks better.”

“My hair looks rubbish compared to hers - it’s been groomed for hours and mine is just natural.”

“I knew she’d be the centre of attention. Look at her with [Rupert Everett] on her arm. It gives her the edge. I didn’t know she’d be here. I want to leave. I want to leave now!”

The source said the scene was “hilarious. Elle was hiding her face behind her mac and kept looking into the mirror and pouting and adjusting her hair, saying, ‘You’ve got to get me out of here, please, please’.”
