Oprah Winfrey has put an end to the grass-roots campaign to convince her to run for President.

Patrick Crowe, a businessman from Kansas City, has run a campaign website, urging Oprah to strive for the White House, for a number of years but now has been ordered by Oprah’s lawyers to “cease and desist” all activity.

In addition to the website, Patrick runs a phone line - the last five digits of which spell out Oprah - and printed a book called ‘Oprah for President: Run Oprah Run’ but he has been ordered to cancel the phone line and stop selling the book after Oprah has claims they’re causing “damage and irreperable injury” to her production company, Harpo.

Patrick is stunned by the legal move: “I’m genuinely puzzled … How could asking her to run possibly cause [her] damage and irreparable injury? If Oprah asked you to run for president, would that be a compliment or would you threaten her with legal action?”
