Anna Nicole Smith’s son Daniel Smith was taking prescription anti-depressants when he died last week.

Cyril Wecht, who conducted the second autopsy on the 20 year old, revealed that Daniel had been taking the medication for between four and six weeks but it is unclear whether the drugs played any role in his death. Both coroners are awaiting toxicology test results.

According to the psychiatrist that treated Daniel, the depression “had to do with a girlfriend” and Anna Nicole’s lawyer Howard K Stern reported that Daniel was feeling a lot more positive by the time he visited his mum in the Bahamas.

Wecht reported: “He was delighted. He was happy to be there with his mother and his sister,” and added that he agreed with the Bahamian coroner, Linda Virgill, that there was no evidence of a “suicidal overdose”.

Daniel’s body is expected to be flown back to California for burial later this week.

Anna Nicole’s Bahamian lawyer Michael Scott reported that she plans to stay out of the limelight and will not talk to the media about the matter: “she is depressed and she’s at home, and remember that she’s got a new child that she’s looking after.”
