Paris Hilton has been charged with driving under the influence following her arrest earlier this month.

Paris was stopped in the earlier hours of 7th September after she was spotted by police driving erratically. She was found to have a blood alcohol level of .08 - the minimum to warrant arrest under Californian law.

The charge carries a potential jail term of six months but given it is Paris’s first offence, she’ll likely to be granted probation with a driving license restriction, and a possibly requirement to attend AA meetings.

Paris claimed she only drunk one margarita before being stopped but had not eaten or slept in the previous 24 hours.
