Kate Beckinsale has revealed she’d like to write a novel to exercise her brain.

Kate studied French and Russian Literature at Oxford before turning to acting. She told the Sunday Express magazine: “I’ll probably write a novel but not under my own name. I wouldn’t want to be a celebrity author. That sounds highly vulgar to me. I wouldn’t want anyone buying it because I’ve been in a couple of silly movies. But I want to keep my brain ticking over.”

She also revealed she finds the shallowness of Hollywood infuriating: “There is a point where if you have one more person saying, ‘Wow I love your belt’, you start to go, ‘I’m going to have to start selling ‘Living Marxism’ on the corner again’.”
