Warrant for Bobby Brown’s arrest over missing child support
As if separating from wife Whitney Houston last month wasn’t stressful enough, Bobby Brown is facing arrest if he returns to his home state of Massachusetts after failing to show up to a hearing about not paying child support for his two children with Kim Ward.
Ward, who is the mother of Bobby’s eldest daughter La Princia and his younger son Bobby Jr, claims Bobby owes her two months of payments, totalling $11,000.
Brown’s lawyer, Phaedra Parks, said: “It’s just a very difficult time for him, as you can well imagine. The media is very aware of this very public divorce that’s going on right now. It’s unfortunate we find ourselves back in Boston on this matter.”
Norfolk Probate and Family Court Judge Paula Carey, who issued the arrest warrant, countered by saying: “whether or not he’s going through a divorce doesn’t negate the fact that he still owes child support relative to his two children that he had prior to his marriage.”
Bobby was sentenced to 90 days in prison in 2004 after missing three months of support payments but the sentence was suspended after he made a $15,000 payment to Ward.
