Mel Gibson has been reportedly spotted drinking lager, less than two months after being arrested for drink-driving and entering an alcohol rehabilitation programme.

A source told the National Enquirer that Mel was spotted drinking at a bar in Austin, Texas on the 22nd September: “I couldn’t believe my eyes. Mel Gibson was swigging a Bud with two adoring young women hanging on his every word.”

The source added that there had been around 75 people in the bar but Mel’s group was in an area “cordoned off so no one could bother him.”

A second onlooker told the magazine: “He definitely was drinking Budweiser. I saw him.”

A spokesperson for Mel, Alan Neirob, confirmed that Mel was in the area for a screening of his new film Apocalypto but “he wasn’t drinking anything alcoholic.”
