Former Backstreet Boy Nick Carter has apologised for making Ashlee Simpson into ‘the other woman‘ in his recent claim that he slept with her while he was dating Paris Hilton.

Nick called Ryan Seacrest’s radio show on Thursday morning to publicly apologise to Ashlee. He added that he didn’t mean “to throw her under the bus in the whole entire situation”.

“This was one of those things that I wanted to keep under wraps… and then my brother [Aaron Carter] kind of let the cat out of the bag.”

Nick also took the opportunity to take another swipe at his ex-girlfriend, Paris by comparing the two girls: “Paris and [Ashlee] are two different people and Ashlee is a good person from what I know… and I’m not saying Paris is a bad person, but I’m saying she’s got to work her problems out.”

Ashlee has revealed she was “dying laughing” when she heard Nick’s initial claim.
