Reports claim Madonna adopts a baby boy in Malawi after all

Despite previous denials and wariness from husband Guy Ritchie, Madonna reportedly has adopted a child during her trip to Malawi.

According to reports, Madonna met the 13 month old boy during a visit to an orphanage outside Mchinji, near the Zambian border. The boy, David (but known as Davie), was sent to the orphanage after his mother died shortly after giving birth.

The boy’s father, Yohane Banda, explained to reporters that had tracked him down: “I’m very happy. As you can see there is poverty in my village.”

“I know he will be very happy in America. We are told David will be coming back regularly to know his roots.”

Yohane’s mother Asineti Mwale added: “Having been brought up an orphan myself, I’m very glad [David was been adopted]. I know how tough it is to grow up without proper parenting. We pray for the woman who has adopted David and for God to bless her for the rest of her life.”

Madonna visited the orphanage last Wednesday and again on Saturday. A source told the Sun: “Madonna was shown a number of pictures of boys at the orphanage but fell for David. She played with him on the floor and took him to the church.”

“She also carried him on her back, which was very symbolic as that is the way Malawian mothers carry their children.”

“They were both so natural in each other’s company. They were laughing and smiling with each other.”

“You could just tell by the look on Madonna’s face that she felt it was right to choose him.”

Madonna’s spokesperson Liz Rosenberg, who had previously denied the rumours, refused to make an official comment on this new news.
