Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are reportedly planning to marry at George Clooney’s lakeside villa in Italy, with 23rd November as a proposed date.

The $3million home, which was constantly rumoured to be the wedding spot for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s nuptials-that-never-were, is on the edge of Lake Como near the village of Laglio and Katie was spotted visiting the villa last week after her Paris trip.

A source in Italy revealed: “The wedding is scheduled for mid-November. Kate had looked at various hotels [in the area] but the venue is to be George’s villa.”

The source added that it would be a civil rather than a religious ceremony. Katie, who was brought up in the Roman Catholic church, is rumoured to have converted to Tom’s preferred Church of Scientology recently, much to the annoyance of her parents. The Holmes family are rumoured to be considering boycotting the wedding if it is a Scientology ceremony.

Their Beverly Hills home and the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre had previously been rumoured to be the venue for their forthcoming wedding and Katie is rumoured to have chosen a Chanel wedding dress designed by Karl Lagerfeld.
