Jessica Simpson has decided that she’s not going to replace the publicist she fired last month.

Jessica and dad/manager Joe Simpson fired Rob Shuter last month after the John Mayer debacle and the pair have decided they can handle the job between themselves now.

She told Jane magazine: “It’s been very emotional. But I am my own publicist right now. I’ve called all the heads of the tabloids. I don’t want anyone else to speak for me now.”

She added that she personally wanted to talk to the reporters that have written harsh things about her in the past: “It felt good to call them, but it was hard to find forgiveness. But that’s one of my best qualities, I’m very forgiving.”

She also said she knows the identity of the people in her life who leak stories about her to the press: “I know who they are, and none are my friends. Trust me, if inside sources were my friends, the magazines would have a lot juicier info!”
