Daniel Smith was buried in the Bahamas yesterday, over a month after his death in the hospital room of his mother, Anna Nicole Smith.

Anna Nicole attended the funeral and memorial service at Lakeview Memorial Gardens and Mausoleums cemetery on Nassau with partner Howard K Stern and was heard wailing and screaming during the ceremony.

The funeral party was escorted to the cemetery by members of Nassau’s police force and local dignitaries made up many of the 25 mourners in attendance. The cemetery was also guarded by at least six police officers to prevent any uninvited guests or members of the press from entering.

According to one source, the ceremony featured an casket and Daniel was buried in jeans, a t-shirt and a baseball cap, with another hat by his side.

The service was conducted by a baptist bishop Neil Ellis and Stern delivered a eulogy, noting: “Anna Nicole Smith laid her son to rest today. It was the most difficult day of her entire life.”

Daniel was just 20 when he died on 10th September while visiting his mum and new baby sister in a private hospital in Nassau. Two separate autopsies have confirmed he died as a result of mixing a combination of two anti-depressants and methadone.
