Madonna has further stirred up rumours that she’s planning to adopt another child from Malawi by spending $7200 on baby clothes for both boys and girls.

According to TMZ, celebrity favourite baby boutique Petit Tresor received a phone call on Friday from one of Madonna’s aides, placing the order which included a range of “cute onesies, pajamas and cashmere cardigans” for a one year old boy as well as items for a baby girl, including dresses and pink shoes.

Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie’s new son David arrived in the UK on Monday after the couple were granted an interim adoption order. A number of children’s rights groups in Malawi and internationally have criticised the speed of the adoption and are attempting to seek an injunction to prevent the couple gaining permanent custody of the boy.

Madonna has released a statement defending herself and is reportedly set to appear on the Oprah Winfrey show next week to give her side of the story.

A source told the News of the World: “she wants to discuss why she made the choices she did, as well as the backlash, which she found pretty unexpected.”
