Pete DohertyPete Doherty is reportedly having problems with his mother-in-law even before he officially becomes Mr Kate Moss.

Kate and Pete held a bonfire and fireworks party at Kate’s home in the Cotswolds last night to celebrate their engagement with friends and family but before the event, Pete was reportedly reluctant to be social with Kate’s mum, Linda.

During Kate and Pete’s last relationship, Linda was rumoured to have told friends that she thought Pete was a terrible influence on Kate and that she was delighted when they split up.

A source told the Sun: “Pete doesn’t care about approval from Linda but he doesn’t want any awkward confrontation with her.”

“He thinks she’s made her mind up about him and there’s no point in trying to be something he’s not.”

And it’s not helped be the fact that Kate would love to have her mum’s blessing on their engagement and she’s been begging Pete to behave himself around Linda.

The source added: “he’s not the sort of person to be told what to do by Kate - and he does not need them to play happy families if it’s just a farce.”

The couple are rumoured to be planning a Christmas wedding or have the ceremony coincide with Kate’s 33rd birthday in January.
