Charlie Sheen has revealed that he approves of his soon-to-be ex-wife Denise Richards‘ boyfriend, Richie Sambora and he’s glad that him and Denise have put all the “nonsense”, such as restraining orders and visitation restrictions, behind them.

He told Ellen DeGeneres: “We’re trying to put all that nonsense aside and just do what’s right for the children and just be good responsible parents.”

Ellen added that the end of relationships are hard enough without being in the public eye and “see[ing] them with somebody else in magazines” to which Charlie responded: “Well, at least I knew the guy that she wound up with, Richie. To know that it’s somebody decent and smart and a good parent to be around your children, that’s a good thing.”

Charlie and Denise have two daughters together, while Richie has already proved his parenting credentials with his 9 year old daughter, Ava with ex-wife Heather Locklear.
