Sarah Michelle Gellar is glad she wasn’t a teen starlet
Sarah Michelle Gellar has said she’s glad that she didn’t become famous as a teenager because she wouldn’t have been able to cope with it.
Sarah was 20 when she won the lead role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and in teen-horror film I Know What You Did Last Summer.
She said recently: “My mother told me I could not move to Los Angeles until I was 18, and I’m glad about that now. I really wanted to get myself situated and developed as a person before I went anywhere. And school was always a priority. If my grades ever dropped below an A-minus, I had to stop doing acting work for a while and get them up again.”
“I was very lucky. I look at all these kids getting fame and attention now. They’re just not equipped to deal with it at that age.”
“I was protected on [Buffy]. I worked constantly. You don’t party when you’re on a TV show. You go to bed for 10 hours and learn your lines.”
