Despite rumours of troubles and her own “awful”ness, Keira Knightley is reportedly planning to marry boyfriend Rupert Friend next year.

According to the News of the World, Keira told friends about their engagement at a party in honour of Lindsay Lohan at the Paper Club in London on Friday night.

An onlooker told the newspaper: “She looked radiant and seemed to want the world to know that she and Rupert had got engaged.”

“She was kissing and cuddling him all night. They were with six friends and were obviously in a celebratory mood after getting through five bottles of Dom Perignon.”

“Keira couldn’t stop giggling. She even told the waiter: ‘Please get my husband a drink.’ Even her girlfriends referred to him as her future husband.”

The fellow party goer heard Keira muse that they’re thinking of following in the footsteps of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes: “We’ve already decided to get married in Italy. Tom Cruise is living my dream by marrying in a castle.”

“One of her girlfriends was saying, ‘You’ve got to get as many tips from Tom Cruise as possible.’”

An inside source confirmed the engagement saying that, like Tom and Katie, they got engaged in Paris. The couple were in the city after Keira finished filming the third - and her final - Pirates of the Caribbean movie: “He realised the timing was perfect for him to pop the question. They went to Paris in September so Keira could discuss her new contract with Chanel and got caught up in the romance of the city. Keira’s over the moon.”

With all the excitement of the evening, Keira wasn’t bothered that her future co-star Lindsay didn’t have any time for her: “It looked like Keira was the one who had the better evening.”

“She was caught up in her own little world. It was like an impromptu engagement party.”
