Katie Holmes might have been frantically trying to lose weight for her wedding last weekend but the same didn’t apply to groom Tom Cruise.

Tom is thought to have gained around 20 pounds (over 1.5 stone) in the few months leading up to the wedding and has been seen looking visibly tubbier around the face - but he didn’t think to tell designer Giorgio Armani about the weight gain.

According to gossip columnist Janet Charlton, Armani was livid when Tom arrived in Rome for the final fitting of his specically made wedding tuxedo because it was far too small to fit Tom’s beefed up physique. Charlton’s source added that Armani was personally involved in the adjustments to let out the trousers and adjust the fitted details - and that Tom had no problem when Giorgio suggested Tom don a girdle to allow the jacket fall properly across his new belly.
