Rachel HunterAfter divorce proceedings lasting seven year long, Rod Stewart and Rachel Hunter are finally legally separated - but that’s not to say, even after all this time, all the details have been ironed out.

The two married in 1990 after a three-month romance and had two children together before separating in 1999.

Documents were released from a Los Angeles court yesterday showing that the divorce was finalised on 2nd November but are marked “Status Only”, meaning that some issues are still to be resolved.

Despite the lengthy process, former supermodel turned Make Me a Supermodel presenter Rachel has reportedly told a friend that she had no intention for the process to become bitter or to be just about money.

According to the Sun, she told the friend she’s come away with “almost nothing” in the settlement: “It was never my intention to take Rod to the cleaners. I’m not a gold-digger. I earn my own money and I enjoy being independent.”

“Rod and I have a good relationship now and we’re glad we can move on with our lives.”

The settlement is believed to include a contribution from Rod towards a house and has established trust funds for their children, Liam and Renee.

Seven years of legal wrangling this time hasn’t put Rod off walking down the aisle again: he plans to marry fiancee Penny Lancaster next year.
