Just weeks before filing for divorce from Pamela Anderson, Kid Rock revealed there were problems in their relationship in a candid interview.

Kid Rock, real name Robert Ritchie, and Pamela were interviewed for the December issue of GQ magazine about their wedding in July and their three months of marriage to that point.

Rock revealed that the wedding ceremony, held on a yacht in St Tropez, was not how he would have liked it. He complained that the guests were “whoever could afford to come. None of my friends were there.”

He later claimed “I’m not in charge of this relationship”, before annoying Pamela with the use of the word “gay” and about his love of hunting. Rock joked regarding Pamela’s involvement with PETA and other animal rights organisations “I shoot the deer and she saves it,” to which Pamela retorted: “That’s divorce right there. You shoot anything, it’s over. That’s in writing.”

In a more recent interview since filing for divorce, Pamela revealed that she is pleased to have split from Rock “just as quickly as I married him”. The couple, who had been engaged in 2002 before splitting, married just weeks after rekindling their romance last summer. Pamela explained: “I’m a spontaneous person [but] maybe next time I’ll think it through a little more.”

The couple have refused to reveal the specific reason or reasons for their sudden split but have cited “irreconcilable differences” on the divorce papers.
