Friends of Melanie Brown have revealed that Mel only found out that her relationship with Eddie Murphy was over when friends texted her the news of Eddie attending the Dreamgirls premiere with new girlfriend Tracey Edmonds and questionning the paternity of Mel’s baby.

A friend told the Mirror: “When she left America on Thursday last week, she had no idea of the bombshell waiting to go off. The news broke while she was on the plane from London back to LA.”

“She was stunned to see so many photographers and couldn’t understand why they were all asking her how she felt. Then all of a sudden she got these messages asking if she was OK after what Eddie had done.”

“At first she thought it was some kind of joke but then she called one of her friends who read the story down the phone to her.”

“She’s been in pieces ever since. Not only has she been dumped but the man she loves has run off with someone else and is making her out to be some sort of slapper.”

“Mel is totally devastated by what Eddie has done, her whole world’s been torn apart. She really thought they were going to be together for a very long time.”

“Mel is sickened Eddie is questioning paternity. She wasn’t sleeping around when she met him and has been faithful throughout their relationship.”

“She accepts there will have to have a test but really can’t believe it has come to this. She’s getting a lawyer immediately.”

According to the Sun, Mel told a friend: “I’m shell-shocked by the whole thing. As far as I was concerned we hadn’t really broken up - we’d just had a bit of a row.”
