Heather MillsHeather Mills has decided that she will represent herself in the High Court for certain aspects of her divorce from Paul McCartney to save on the £15,000-a-day barrister fees.

Heather represented herself earlier this week in arguing that she should have access to the north London home she previously shared with Paul but she will still use legal firm Mischon de Reya for the battle over her financial settlement and the custody of their daughter Beatrice.

One source revealed “she is an intelligent woman and felt capable of this,” but another source added that she has made the change for purely financial reasons: her legal bill for the split could reach £1million and until their finances are agreed, she’s short of cash: “She has to be careful about the size of the legal bills and by representing herself she is able to cut down on the costs.”
