Nicole Richie’s attorney has said that the socialite is prepared to accept responsibility for her behaviour, which led to her arrest in the early hours of Monday morning.

Nicole was released on $15,000 bail and despite her admitting smoking marijuana and taking a Vicodin tablet earlier in the evening, police are awaiting the results of a blood test before formally filing charging.

Her attorney Howard Weitzman said yesterday: “This is a difficult time for Nicole but she is prepared to accept whatever responsibility is appropriate.”

“She intends to continue with her career and will deal with any other issues that need to be addressed”.

An arraignment to discuss the case has been scheduled for Feburary but Nicole will not be required to attend the court hearing.
