  • Charlotte Church has revealed her New Year’s resolution for 2007 will be to give up swearing. She said recently: “In 2007 I’m going to stop swearing. Just because my nan doesn’t like it and it will show I’ve got a bit of a vocabulary.” Her 2006 resolution was to give up smoking to stop damaging her singing ability and see became the public face of National No Smoking Day in March.
  • Uma Thurman might have had superpowers in My Super Ex Girlfriend but she needed a hand from her bodyguard recently when she got stuck in a lift in Manhattan. Uma was in a group of eight people who boarded a lift only intended for four and it got stuck for 20 minutes before Uma’s bodyguard, Leonard Taylor had a brainwave. Another member of the stuck party revealed: “He pulled the elevator door open with one arm, and used his belt as a pulley in the other arm.”
  • Stephen Fry has been banned for driving for six months after being caught driving at 74mph in a 60mph zone in Norfolk recently. Stephen was given the ban and a £150 in the Kings Lynn magistrates court yesterday and will also pay £35 legal costs. Stephen didn’t appear in court himself as he is away filming in Hungary.
