Despite re-recording her first flubbed attempt at singing ‘9 to 5′, Jessica Simpson has asked that she is cut entirely from the telecast of the Kennedy Center Honors.

Jessica blamed nerves - at performing in front of a star-studded audience including her idol Dolly Parton and George W Bush - and an awkward strapless dress for her first run-through of the number and later recorded the track again without any of the audience present. Her mum was reportedly livid at her “embarrassing” performance.

Jessica’s spokesperson Cindi Berger has now said though: “[Jessica] really wasn’t happy with her performance and she did want it to be perfect for Dolly, who she idolizes.”

A spokesperson for the Kennedy Center said: “We appreciate the time and energy Ms. Simpson put into this event, and respect the high standards she has for herself and that of the Kennedy Center Honors.”
