• Victoria Beckham is delighted to hear that fellow former Spice Girl Emma Bunton is expecting her first baby. She told People magazine: “I am so excited for Emma. It really is fantastic news, and she really will make a perfect Mummy!” Melanie Brown, who is expecting her second child in the spring, is also thrilled at the news: “She is absolutely delighted. She spent much of the weekend trying to reach Emma, as they kept missing each other. She is overjoyed, thrilled to bits for her. As everyone is.”
• Supermodel Gisele Bundchen is reportedly dating New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady after they were spotted together twice in one week. First, Gisele was spotted waiting for Tom outside the locker rooms after a game the weekend before last and then on Thursday, he was spotted leaving Gisele’s apartment in West Village, New York. In an interview in 2005, Gisele had previously said about Tom: “He’s definitely not too shabby. He’s pretty cute.”
• Aside from possible criminal charges, Brandy is being sued by the family of the woman that died in her December car crash. Brandy has been ruled as at fault by the California Highway Patrol failing to slow down and causing a four-car pile-up in which Awatef Aboudihaj was fatally injured. Awatef’s family yesterday filed papers to sue Brandy for “reckless driving” and are seeking $50 million in compensatory and punitive damages.

Larry Birkhead has revealed he was amazed when Anna Nicole Smith dumped him and fled to the Bahamas because he thought they were committed to each other and the baby she was expecting.

Larry revealed recently: “One day I’m in a store buying maternity clothes and helping her while she’s sick… The night before she left, I bought her $200 worth of desserts and she ploughed through them in 20 minutes because she was having cravings.”

“I enjoyed it. I liked helping her. I felt like we were actually getting somewhere at that point. We were both happy. We talked about, you know, the baby. You know, every night she’d make me sing songs to her - the baby, in the belly… before she went to sleep.”

“I tried to get her out of her pain and discomfort. And I did everything I could.”

He added that he had to help Anna Nicole keep her lawyer Howard K Stern out of the house because he would frequently harass them: “Most of the time that I was in the home with her, when we lived together, we would have to basically lock doors to the bedroom.”

“[Stern] would try to come in and she’d have to tell him at certain points to call before he came back.”

“One time in particular, while she was pregnant, I had to basically rescue her at a hotel because Howard gave her so much grief about me being the father and saying that he was never going to accept me. He told her to make a choice - him or me.”

Larry has so far spent $300,000 on legal fees to try to force Anna Nicole to DNA test her baby Dannielynn. Larry believes he is the girl’s child while Anna Nicole named Howard as the father on the birth certificate.

Jermaine Jackson believes his little brother Michael Jackson should convert to Islam to help him deal with the pressures of being in the limelight.

Jermaine said recently that his faith kept him calm during his Celebrity Big Brother appearance: “If I didn’t have Allah and my prayer rug, I would not have survived, and the reason why is because it kept me focused, it kept me calm.”

“Michael, I feel, needs to become a Muslim because I think it’s a great protection for him from all the things that he’s been attacked with, which are false. There’s a strength and a protection there.”

“I brought him a lot of books, and he reads everything and he reads a lot. I think he’s probably given it serious thought because he’s spent a lot of time in Bahrain. I was the reason why he had gone there because I wanted him to get out of America and just go somewhere peaceful and quiet, where people pray five times a day. It’s a beautiful thing.”

Amy Winehouse has revealed she only started drinking heavily because she had to give up smoking cannabis.

She said recently: “I can’t smoke now because my energy crashes. “I’d get up, smoke two big spliffs then think I should eat something so I’d have a fry-up. Then I wouldn’t eat anything all day. Then I’d eat pasta at two in the morning.”

“My drinking replaced weed. I still have a problem. I have had a problem with drink but I haven’t had a drink in a few days.”

“The problem isn’t exaggerated. I’m a terrible drunk. I don’t know where that comes from - boredom?”

Kate Moss and Pete Doherty have reportedly both checked themselves into a drug rehab clinic.

According to the Sun, the pair admitted themselves to the Capio Nightingale Hospital yesterday using false names: Pete will receive residential treatment at the hospital close to Kate’s north London home with Kate joining him for therapy sessions.

A source told the newspaper: “They arrived together and will be supporting each other. They looked very much a couple as they came in and she is clearly worried about him.”

After checking in, Kate stayed at the clinic for a couple of hours before leaving again without Pete. One of her assistants was later spotted delivering groceries and computer equipment to the hospital.

Kate went through a rehab programme at the Meadows Clinic in Arizona in October 2005 after she was photographed using cocaine at a Babyshambles recording session. Pete spent a month as an in-patient at the Priory last summer.

• Gwyneth Paltrow has defended Lindsay Lohan’s partying behavious and thinks Lindsay will grow out of it, given time and will have a fantastic career ahead of her. Gwyneth said recently: “she’ll figure it out… It’s really, really hard to be so young and so in the public eye and I think it’s very confusing.” She added that she is speaking from experience, having gone through a similar period herself but: “my parents would have killed me if I didn’t do it behind closed doors.”
• Patsy Kensit has revealed she cried “every day” of her three year marriage to Liam Gallagher. Patsy was married to Simple Minds singer Jim Kerr before divorcing him and marrying Liam in 1997. Patsy told the Radio Times recently: “My husbands weren’t difficult. I probably was. I’m being chivalrous, defending my ex-husbands. I’m OK to live with. I’ve had the same nanny for six years - that’s a testament.”
• Scarlett Johansson and Selma Blair had a girls-only trip to Las Vegas with friends last weekend. The two were spotted at celebrity-favourite Pure nightclub in Caesars Palace on Friday night then had sushi and saw the Cirque de Soleil show Mystére on Saturday night before returning to Caesars Palace for more dancing at Pure and some gambling on a private craps table in the early hours of Sunday morning.
