Elizabeth Hurley has revealed what first attracted to her to now-husband Arun Nayar.

The pair met on a dinner date hosted by a mutual friend, financier Alex Tomei, then bumped into each other again at a meal at Le Caprice, where Arun asked for Liz’s phone number.

She told ES magazine recently: “There was something about him that made me feel very comfortable. I was a bit embarrassed, as I was 36 and it felt bizarre going on a date.”

“But I was pleased he asked me. When Alex Tomei first came to pick me up, I said, ‘Who is this guy we are having dinner with?’ He said, ‘ He’s half-Indian and half-German,’ and I thought, ‘What a shocking combo!’ But I quickly revised my opinion.”

“The weird thing is we are very, very similar. I very much like his mother. We are both close to our families and both have very loyal friends whom we adore.”

She added that while their month-old marriage has been fun so far, she doesn’t expect it to be entirely problem free: “I am not naive enough to think that because something is rosy today, it won’t be bleak tomorrow. My life has always been massive ups and massive downs.

“But because I am so used to it, I feel anaesthetised against past bad times. I spend zero time thinking about them.”

Jim Carrey has reportedly given girlfriend Jenny McCarthy his permission to sleep with Justin Timberlake - if Justin is willing.

Jim and Jenny have been dating since December 2005 but Jenny told Jim she had a long standing crush on the former NSync star.

A source told the National Enquirer that they overheard Jenny explaining the deal to a friend: “Jenny was at Los Angeles’ W hotel with a friend and she was saying Jim has given her the go-ahead to fool around with Justin should the opportunity ever arise!”

“Either he’s joking or he’s very understanding.”

Jennifer Garner has admitted she’s surprised by how hard it is to be away from her 15 month old daughter with husband Ben Affleck, Violet.

She told Hello magazine recently: “Before I became a mother, I thought the pull from Violet would not be as huge as it is. I thought it would be easier for me to work, that I’d be like, ‘Oh, it’s fine, she’s here, she’s happy.’”

“And that actually isn’t the case. She is fine. I’m the one who is a wreck if I don’t get to be with her!”

She added that as a result, she’s more particular about choosing which projects to work on and new film Catch and Release is an example of her new criteria: “I have to really love something a lot to be willing to not be with my little girl every day.”

“The first time I read [this script], I knew I had to do it. The writing is just so beautiful and playable and real.”

Mark Wahlberg has revealed the arrival of his daughter Ella four years ago helped him become a much more rounded and mature adult.

He said recently: “From the age of 15 on, I’ve thought I was a man but I didn’t really become a man until I had my little girl, which was the key ingredient to helping me become a well-rounded person.”

“I don’t have a problem with showing a sensitive side. I like to see guys kick ass when necessary and I’m still a guy’s guy, but when I had my little girl that kind of changed everything.”

He added that he’s very protective of his little girl and will use skills he developed for new film Shooter to scare would-be boyfriends when she gets older: “They sent me to sniper training [for the film], so I could be the daddy shining his rifle when she’s 16 and the guy shows up at the house.”

“I might have the movie playing in the background too.”

The pair were spotted kissing at an afterparty following Russell Brand and Noel Fielding’s Teenage Cancer Trust show at London’s Maddox Club earlier this week and Amy was overheard telling friends about Blake: “I love him. He’s the one.” Amy split from her most recent boyfriend Alex earlier this month.
• Jane Pratt, the former editor of Jane magazine, has claimed she slept with Drew Barrymore. Speaking on her new radio show, Jane elaborated on a comment she made on Howard Stern’s radio show a few years ago regarding whether she’d had sex with a woman and if it had been someone famous. Jane said: “It was someone famous. I did have sex with Drew Barrymore.” Drew appeared on the cover of Jane magazine’s debut issue in 1997.
• Harry Potter’s Emma Watson is reportedly dating an up-and-coming rugby player, Tom Ducker. The pair were recently spotted together and a source told the Sun: “They began dating last September and are very cosy with each other.” Ducker has reportedly been signed to the London Wasps training academy.

Former Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm has finally admitted that she dated Robbie Williams at the height of the girl group’s success in the late 1990s.

The pair had been rumoured to be an item but always refused to speak about it but now Melanie has told Star magazine: “I’ve turned down so many people on this question. It was ten f***ing years ago and I’m still talking about it!”

“It was nothing serious but we went on a couple of dates and it didn’t really work out. It was just a chemistry thing really, sometimes there’s not a major reason. He was busy travelling all over the world and so was I.”

“At the end of the day, you’re never going to get Robbie to settle down are you? You’re never going to tame that beast!”

“I felt for him when he went to rehab. Robbie will have to deal with his demons forever, especially with something like addiction.”

“I’m not comparing myself to Robbie in any way, but I hope and pray that I wouldn’t get depressed if my album didn’t do well. I try really hard to get a balance in my life so that my career isn’t the only thing in it.”
