Sheryl Crow has said she wasn’t given any special treatment when it came to adopting her son, Wyatt.

Sheryl adopted newborn Wyatt at the end of last month and she said recently: “I went through the proper channels and did it just like everybody else does it. They don’t put you at the front of the line just because you’re a rock star.”

“I flew to where he was, which was in another state, and I took him home a day later [on April 30th]. He was 1 day old.”

She added that she “did not care” about the sex or nationality of the child she adopted: “[But] I do believe, and it may sound wacky, that souls pick their surroundings. I feel like Wyatt was on his way, one way or the other.”

Heather Mills has said she’s decided to change from being a vegetarian to a vegan - because of the cruelty involved in milk production.

She said recently: “I’m a vegan now - a healthy diet which saves animals, something very important to me as I detest cruelty.”

“Following a plant-based diet not only benefits your health massively but also makes a huge difference to the planet, to animals and to feeding the world.”

“My hope is to continue to put the message out there.”

“It is the obscenity of taking newborn calves away from their mothers so we can have their milk - a product designed by evolution for little cows, not little people, or big people for that matter.”

“I hate the cruelty of factory farming. I could never go back to eating meat, fish or dairy.”

Lindsay Lohan wasn’t the only LA party girl getting into a bit of a state on Sunday night - Britney Spears reportedly ended up vomiting in the men’s toilets of exclusive bar.

A source told the Sun that Britney arrived at the Sky Bar in the Mondrian Hotel with five friends and the group seemed to be having a good time until Britney disappeared about an hour later. The source said: “Britney was found slumped over the toilet bowl with make-up smeared over her face and her wig hanging off.”

“She had a room booked at the hotel but was too ill to stay and was begging her bodyguard to take her home.”

“She looked a real mess and was sitting on the floor with her head over the bowl throwing up. There was vomit down the front of her black dress and around her mouth.”

“Britney was on her knees and must have been sick four or five times. She didn’t really seem with it, but I don’t know if she was drunk or not.”

The source added that Britney needed help leaving the hotel and as her bodyguard helped carry her out, she was overhead telling hotel staff: “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. Things aren’t going well for me at the moment.”

Britney posted an epic message on her official website yesterday calling rehab “very humbling” but “till this day I don’t think that it was alcohol or depression.”

She added: “I realized how much energy and love I had put into my past relationship when it was gone because I genuinely did not know what to do with myself, and it made me so sad. I confess, I was so lost.”

“I feel like some of the people in my life made more of some issues than was necessary. I also feel like they knew I was beginning to use my brain for a change and cut some ties, so they wanted to be in more control of my life than me.”

• Lindsay Lohan’s next movie role Poor Things is reportedly in jeopardy after she admitted herself into rehab on Monday. Lindsay was due to start shooting the film with Shirley MacLaine and Olympia Dukakis earlier next week but while some production sources claim she’ll continue working on the film as planned and just return to Promises of an evening (like she did with I Know Who Killed Me and Wonderlands earlier in the year), another source has said that “absolutely is not going to happen.”
• Amy Winehouse’s mum has expressed concern about her daughter’s current weight. Newlywed Amy has admitted to suffering from eating disorders in the past but insists she is fine now - but Janis Winehouse isn’t so sure. She’s quoted in the Daily Mail as saying: “Amy’s always been slim but has never been this skinny before.”

Nicole Richie has been criticised for sending a party invitation to friends, joking about drinking to excess and size zero physiques.

According to In Touch, Nicole sent the email-invite out last week for the party she co-hosted on Sunday night. The kinda-rhyming message read:

“My fellow Americans its that time of year,
To celebrate our country by drinking massive amounts of beer,
Let’s stand together as one, live the American dream,
Take shots, pass out, & wake up with our pants ripped open at the seems,
Let’s glorify this day in your sluttiest tops and your tightest pair of tsubi jeans,
Even though we have no f***ing clue what Memorial Day really means!!”

She added: “There will be a scale at the front door. No girls over 100 pounds allowed in. Start starving yourself now. See you all then!!!”

Campaigners against alcohol abuse and eating disorders have criticised Nicole’s sentiment given she is awaiting judgement on December’s DUI arrest and has been recently rumoured to have entered treatment to help her gain weight - but her spokesperson insists this is the point of the message.

Her representative told Us Weekly: “This invitation was sent via email to her friends who understand that she was responding in a joking manner to the constant untruths printed about her in the media. Her reference to Memorial Day was in no way meant to offend anyone but was simply an expression of her distaste for the current situation.”

• After a couple of weeks of melancholy, Paris Hilton now seems to be making the most of her last days of freedom before the start of her jail sentence next week. She hosted a Memorial Day party at her home on Monday and her guests included celebrity friends Nicole Richie, Elisha Cuthbert, little sister Nicky Hilton and Brandon Davis.
• Sometime-friend Lindsay Lohan might have been on the invite list too but she spent her Monday checking into Promises Treatment Center. Splash have the first photo of her inside the facility.
• Ex-Promises resident Britney Spears was spotted looking happy and healthy yesterday when she stopped off for a quick visit to her favourite tanning parlour, the Epitome Spa in Beverly Glen.
• Elsewhere, some celebrities actually have to work (even if it’s not exactly what you and I might call work). Cameron Diaz is currently in South East Asia for regional premieres of Shrek the Third. Japan’s screening took place in Tokyo’s NHK Hall on Monday and the premiere in South Korea took place earlier today.
