Jessica Alba’s split from long-term boyfriend Cash Warren might not be as final first thought - and the break-up is all Eva Longoria fault anyway, a source has claimed.

The insider told the New York Daily News that while the couple have gone their separate ways for the time being, friends think the pair will get back together sooner or later.

The source added a reason for the split: “He wasn’t ready for marriage, and Jessica is. It’s simple as that.”

And attending Eva Longoria’s marriage to Tony Parker in Paris earlier this month really drove home the difference between the pair: “Seeing Eva get married made Jessica wistful. That was the reason Jessica seemed to be in a terrible mood in Paris.”

“It’s kind of cold that the press is saying she was just finished with him, because it isn’t like that.”

• It looks like Britney Spears might have a new boyfriend - or at least has a new friend who is male and therefore worthy of rumours. Britney wore a super-short fringed dress and her mancessory for a night-out in Los Angeles on Saturday.
• Claire Danes went for a somewhat classier LBD - high-front, no back - for the premiere of Stardust in LA last night. Michelle Pfeiffer and Take That’s Mark Owen & Gary Barlow also attended the red carpet event.
• An array of stars also came out for the the 2007 Comic-Con in San Diego. Jessica Alba and Clive Owen put in appearances on Friday, with Gwyneth Paltrow and various Heroes stars - including Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia - showing up on Saturday.
• Paris Hilton though, she doesn’t need a red carpet or a comic-convention as an excuse to get dressed up. The socialite donned shiny trousers, high-high heels and her new tiny dog for seemingly just going about her daily business in LA on Saturday.

• Despite his previous eagerness to show off daughter Jessica Simpson’s DD-cup “suckers“, Joe Simpson has revealed they turned down a film role that would involve nudity even though it was supposedly guaranteed to be an Oscar winner. Joe told People magazine recently: “The last script that came to us was for Jessica to be a porn star. We were promised we would win an Oscar with that [but] I was like, ‘Eh, we’ll just buy a [statue of a] little man and keep our clothes on.’”
• Ozzy Osbourne was briefly hospitalised in Denver over the weekend and underwent surgery following his Saturday night show in the city. A source told local TV station KUSA-TV, Ozzy had a blood clot removed from his leg after being in pain for most of the day. Ozzy’s spokesperson confirmed the rocker turned reality TV star had a “minor outpatient procedure” but is “doing well” and continuing with the tour.

Eddie Murphy has got engaged to girlfriend Tracey Edmonds - just days after they joked about not being engaged yet.

Tracey was spotted with a diamond ring on her engagement finger at the Who’s Your Caddy? premiere last week but Eddie, clearly in the know, joked it wasn’t an engagement ring, because the real thing would be “much bigger”.

Eddie proposed to Tracey with a yellow diamond engagement ring from Cartier on Wednesday and she was spotted “proudly showing [it] off” at lunch with friends at the W Hotel in Westwood, California on Thursday.

A spokesperson for Tracey confirmed the news yesterday saying: “Tracey and Eddie are both very much in love and are excited about spending the rest of their lives together.”

A friend of the couple added to OK magazine that the couple will marry before the end of the year: “It will be a private wedding. Something low key and very romantic.”

“They’re very adorable together, very happy.”

It will be a second marriage for both Eddie and Tracey - he was previously married to Nicole Mitchell Murphy while Tracey was married to Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. They have been dating for around nine months after Eddie broke up with Melanie Brown.

Usher reportedly called off his wedding at the last minute this weekend because he didn’t want to marry fiancee Tameka Foster without his estranged mum there.

Usher and Tameka were supposed to marry on Saturday at music mogul LA Reid’s home in the Hamptons - but Tameka was said to have barred his mum and former manager Jonetta Patton from the nuptials because they don’t get along.

A source told the New York Daily News that Usher “started having second thoughts” on Friday: “He was obviously troubled that Jonetta wasn’t coming”.

“[Then] Usher woke up on Saturday and said he couldn’t go through with it. The reason he called off the ceremony is that he couldn’t go through with it without Jonetta.”

“Apparently, he also couldn’t bring himself to call all the people who were invited. He had the wedding planner call everyone in the wedding party.”

The source added that the guests - who were already reportedly boarding a shuttle bus from their hotel to the estate - were surprised at the news while Tameka was furious: “She was marching around, cursing.”

Usher is believed to have flown to Atlanta yesterday to reconcile with Jonetta while the status his relationship with Tameka is unknown. The couple are expecting a child later this year.

Billie Piper has reportedly delayed plans to marry boyfriend Laurence Fox to avoid rushing into the marriage in the heat of the moment.

The former Doctor Who began dating Laurence, her then West End co-star, at the end of last year and the couple were said to be planning to wed last weekend - until family and friends urged them to reconsider the plans.

A source close to Billie told the People newspaper: “It is not a question of Billie doubting her feelings for Laurence - they are head over heels in love. But the worry is she is getting caught up in the moment.”

The source added that Billie is worried about repeating her relationship with Chris Evans - the couple married after five months of dating in 2001, separated in 2004 and their divorce was finalised earlier this year: “It was a whirlwind romance and although they had a lot of fun, it did not last. Billie’s grown up a lot since then but we are worried she has not learnt from the experience.”

“Laurence is lovely and they’re really happy together, so no doubt they will marry soon anyway. But people have told her hold back a bit.”
