Former Coronation Street star Tina O’Brien has said she has no plans to jump into adult roles involving nudity now that she’s left the soap.

Tina spent eight years on the Street before deciding it was time to move on and her character Sarah-Louise Platt got to move on too: leaving Weatherfield for a new life in Milan in yesterday’s episode. But even though Tina’s posed for sexy photo shoots for magazines in the past, Tina says she’s still too shy about her body to strip off completely for the cameras if demanded by any post-Corrie roles.

She told the Sunday Mirror recently: “I don’t look that good without all the airbrushing, believe me. Some days my hair looks horrible, nothing fits right and, like every woman, I think ‘I’m so ugly’.”

“I certainly don’t look at myself and think, ‘Phwoar’ - and I imagine most guys who meet me are disappointed.”

“I really admire Billie Piper for doing Secret Diary Of A Call Girl. Good for her. She’s obviously comfortable with her body, but I don’t think I’d be happy having people see me naked. I’m just not confident enough.”

“I do try to eat healthily. If I find I’ve been having too many takeaways I’ll knock them on the head for a while, but I do believe women can become obsessed with being thin.”

“I think if you ask the majority of men they would agree with me - they don’t want women who are too skinny. Look at Kelly Brook. Men love her and she has curves in all the right places. They’re more attracted to that than beanpoles. Having said that, being thin does work for some women. Keira Knightley always looks fantastic.”

Number 5: The Spice Girls‘ comeback

The Spice Girls‘ comeback happened - probably not coincidentally - at the perfect time to maximise their exposure: the announcement of the tour happened just days before the Beckhams long-awaited move to Los Angeles and their comeback shows kicked off just as Melanie Brown was winning the hearts of US audiences on Dancing with the Stars. Even without those events though, the comeback would probably have been just as huge - who could resist the return of their particular brand of bubblegum pop, wrapped up in designer outfits and accessorised by their children, Spice Boys and ever-so gossip-worthy lives?

Number 4: Vanessa Hudgen’s nude pics

Vanessa was barely known outside the High School Musical universe until she, well, bared all. Fans were divided whether they were a good or bad thing but everyone was interested in seeing what all the fuss was about. We still don’t know for sure when & where they were taken and who was the photographer (if there was one) or the intended audience but we do know that the furore around them has launched Vanessa’s star into the next level of the celebrity stratosphere.

Number 3: Paris Hilton’s jailtime

We said yesterday how surprised we were about Paris being actually set to jail - and being returned there after her release to house arrest - and we were equally surprised by how big the story was. At the end of the day, she’s just a socialite - albeit a very well known one - who was sent to jail on a dull charge (probation violation): it’s not like she’s a huge A-list star and it was something juicy, scandalous and soap opera-ish like the murder of her lover because he was about to reveal she stole the world’s largest diamond and had hidden it in Nicole Richie’s baby bump. But as massive as the story was in June, now it seems a distant memory: her pledges to only use her fame for good seem all but forgotten and the amount of celebrity DUIs since then suggests her time inside didn’t make her into the example the judge had hoped her to be.

• Milo Ventimiglia has reportedly told friends that he is dating his Heroes co-star Hayden Panettiere. The pair repeatedly denied rumours of a romance after they were repeatedly spotted together during downtime while filming the second series of the show earlier in the year - but now reports claim Milo couldn’t shut up about her at a pre-Christmas party in Los Angeles: “He called her his girlfriend and said that he loved her.” Eighteen year old Hayden split up from Stephen Coletti, boyfriend of a year, in September.
• Britney Spears‘ 4am lunch buddy has said he thinks the star’s public behaviour is very much influenced by the people in her entourage. Paparazzi photographer Adnan Ghalib was invited to a hotel room by the singer last weekend after they spent weeks flirting from either side of the camera - but he insists they just talked. He’s now told 20/20 he thinks she’s unfairly attacked: “She is the way she is because of the people she surrounds herself with. On a single level, I think she’s awesome.”

Britney Spears is reportedly less than pleased that she’s going to become an aunt next spring - because she had warned little sister Jamie Lynn Spears to steer clear of sex at such a young age.

According to the People newspaper, Britney told a friend recently: “I’m really disappointed in her.”

“I just can’t believe she’s pregnant. She is way too young to be a mum. She should be having fun and stuff, not having a baby.”

“I warned this girl, I really did. I told her over and over just to be a kid and let the adult things like sex and drinking and all that wait.”

Britney then is said to have added that she’d had several heart-to-heart talks with Jamie Lynn over the last year and “she seemed to take my advice”.

But she is said to have also admitted that she realises she might not have set the best example for the Zoey 101 star: “I’ve done some pretty dumb stuff and haven’t been a good role model.”

Nicole Kidman has reportedly told friends and family that she and husband Keith Urban are expecting their first child together.

According to the Daily Mail, the Sydney-based couple made the announcement to their families and other close friends over the Christmas holiday.

A source revealed: “Nicole’s openly admitted she longs to have a baby with Keith and was delighted to be able to announce the news this week.”

The baby is expected to be born next summer, which won’t be a problem for Nicole as she had planned to “spend as much time as possible” with Keith in 2008, with no film work planned after she completes production of The Reader in Germany next month.

However, her spokesperson refused to confirm the baby news when asked about it yesterday, saying: “As far as we’re concerned it is another rumour.”

Nicole has two teenage children - Bella and Connor - from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise and earlier this year confirmed rumours that she had suffered both an ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage during the relationship.

Miley Cyrus has laughed off suggestions that newly leaked photographs of her are scandal-worthy.

The candid pictures show the Hannah Montana star in a hotel room with a female friend, playing around together on the floor and posing for the camera as they share a sweet.

The 15 year old told Z100 New York: “They’re nothing bad! It’s two girls at a sleepover, and if all of a sudden that’s bad, then what is the world coming to?”

But she admits she is upset about the photos being leaked - mostly for the other girl’s sake: “[she’s] a friend of mine, a normal girl … one of my best friends. I have all these girls who I hang out with all the time.”

“I have to deal with [public attention] anyways [but] this girl doesn’t even have to deal with that, and it’s so hard. [Now] she has to go to school and deal with this crap.”

“It’s not something I’m going to let slide.”
