Joe Simpson is reportedly rather narked that daughter Jessica Simpson turned down the job of hosting the New Year’s Eve party at Pure nightclub in Las Vegas in favour of spending the evening with her friend/boyfriend John Mayer.

According to TMZ, Jessica was offered the hosting role (and the accompanying fat pay cheque) but turned it down, saying she wanted to end the year quietly, away from the world of showbiz. However, when the evening came, Jessica was spotted at various parties around New York, including “full on making out” with John at Christina Aguilera’s party at the Hudson Hotel.

A source told TMZ Joe is mad that Jessica gave up the lucrative Pure job - which then went to new party queen Britney Spears - and then went partying anyway for free.
