Celebrity Gossip: more snippets
- Scarlett Johansson’s publicist has denied reports the actress acted like a diva on the set of Justin Timberlake’s new video for ‘What Goes Around… Comes Around’. On-set sources revealed that Scarlett got her bodyguard to stop people from eating in front of her and endlessly complained about not being able to smoke, saying: “How come we have fire dancers, but I can’t smoke?” Scarlett’s spokesperson Marcel Pariseau has denied the claims though: “Scarlett is always respectful of other people and never made this statement. Also, Scarlett doesn’t have a bodyguard.”
- The speed of Madonna’s adoption of baby David Banda from Malawi has been called into question again amidst reports that Madonna agreed to fund a government official’s degree in social work just months before adopting David. Madonna is sponsoring Willard Manjolo to take the course at Swansea University and insists he played no part in the decision about David. However a lawyer for the coalition challenging the adoption has argued the sponsorship “could be construed as payment” and so needs to be examined during the legal challenge.
- And speaking of adoptions, Leonardo DiCaprio has revealed he couldn’t help but get involved with a child he met while filming Blood Diamond in Mozambique. He said recently: “You can’t help but not be affected when you’re in a situation where there is a horrible AIDS rate and there is violence going on and there is poverty. You have to get involved. Certainly there was a girl on set that I sort of became attached to and… I’m supporting her and supporting the orphanage… I’ll be affected by that experience forever. I won’t look at life the same way.”
