Emilio Estevez was dubious about casting Lindsay Lohan in his recent film Bobby because of her party-girl reputation so ended up asking Elijah Wood, who would perform opposite the starlet, for his opinion.

Emilio told Empire magazine recently: “Lindsay’s agents kept pushing her. I’d heard horrible stories, so I said, ‘Is she interested in being thought of a serious actress? Because this schedule can’t support anybody misbehaving.’ They assured me, ‘Yes, she wants to meet with you.’”

“So I called Elijah and said, ‘I need you to come to lunch today.’ I wanted another opinion, especially from the actor who would be in most of her scenes.”

“It ended up as a love-fest. We laughed, we told stories, she understood the script and the role and was committed. She left, and Elijah and I looked at each other and said, ‘She’d be fabulous.’”
