  • Hilary Swank has received the 2,325th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week. The two-time Best Actress Oscar winner got emotional at the ceremony as she reminisced about first moving to Los Angeles 16 year ago when they had just $75 and lived out of their car: “I remember my mom using a roll of quarters to call agents from a pay phone and telling agents they should sign me.”
  • Alan Cumming has married his partner of two year, Grant Shaffer in a civil ceremony in London this weekend. The couple tied the knot in custom-made suits in front of 140 guests, including Ian McKellen, Geri Halliwell and Rufus Wainwright, and rather than a first dance, had a first skate together on a rented nearby ice rink. Alan said about the celebration: “Not only are we so happy to be able to celebrate our love for each other, but also to be able to do it in a country that properly recognizes the rights of same-sex couples.”
  • Mariah Carey has revealed she sleeps in what is effective a steam room because she thinks it helps protect her voice. She explained in a recent interview: “Literally I’ll have twenty humidifiers around the bed. Basically it’s like sleeping in a steam room. The bed is all terry-cloth, the ceiling is pitched so the water can’t fall on my head, and it drips down to my side, and the TV is behind glass.”
