Kelly Osbourne has revealed she has no plans to starve herself to attain size-zero status just to fit into the party scene in Los Angeles.

She told the Sun recently that watching her mum, Sharon Osbourne, fight with her weight has made her incredibly conscious about the misery that it can cause: “My mum was always depressed about her body and I was always aware of it. She was obese at one point and it made her absolutely miserable. Even now she looks at herself and still sees a fat person, which I just can’t understand.”

“As a child I knew she had a problem and I’d say, ‘Please don’t lose weight because there won’t be enough of you to cuddle’. It made me really sad.”

“Seeing her go through her experiences has made me realise I don’t EVER want to have the same thing happen to me. I don’t even diet. I just believe in eating healthily. I will always be a little bit fat and I don’t care.”

“I was never called fat or different until I went to LA. I don’t want to go somewhere I’m constantly judged. When I appear on a magazine cover there they give me a fake tan and brush out my love handles and my tattoos to make me more ’socially acceptable.’”

“None of those people are happy. They all look the same. They stick their fingers down their throats or take speed all day. It’s very odd to me that people want to look like they’ve just come out of a concentration camp. It’s really sad.”

“I get it all the time. ‘If you lose a few pounds, you’d look great’, and ‘I can help you, I know how.’ I’m sorry, but I don’t want to lose weight.”

“It makes me so miserable to be there. I’d rather be in London, where it’s OK to be a bit different.”
