Liam Neeson: I have issues with adopting from Africa

Liam Neeson has revealed he and wife Natasha Richardson won’t be following in Angelina Jolie or Madonna’s footsteps: they considered adopting a baby from Africa but eventually decided against it because he had a “lot of issues” with it.

Liam, who is also a UNICEF ambassador, revealed recently: I’m always arguing with my wife about [adopting an Africa child].”

“It was something I considered when I was there [in Africa] but… I think about it from time to time, but to be honest with you, I have a lot of issues with it. With taking a child away from its parents if they were alive, its culture, its country.”

“I’m slightly worried about the exotic content of it too. It’s like, I dunno, it’s a delicate issue.”

So do I Liam. I think Madonna didn’t think when she did what she did. Now I’m hearing she’s proud because she’s changed the laws! Meg you look and sound very ethnocentric when you say things like that. I think you’re too egocentric to see what you did was questionable.

As long as you didn’t do what meg did you should be fine with the media liam. I don’t aggree with adopting while the parents are alive either. Even if they have aids I don’t think it’s a good idea. People with aids can live very long now. Meg should have provided him with the means to care for his child rather than taking him away from Malawi. She shouldn’t be boasting about changing the laws either. She didn’t change it she bypassed it because she is Madonna.
