Kate Winslet believes parenthood has forced her to become calmer as a person and she tries to let her children have a normal life away from the limelight despite her fame.

Kate said recently: “I’m really not that kind of stress-out, freak-out person [anyway but] I think I’ve become calmer since having kids, because you have to. You just can’t be self-absorbed in any way. There is no time when you are a mum.”

She added that six year old daughter Mia and three year old son Joe don’t really know that their mum is famous and she tries to keep them away from “the telly if I might be on a show”.

“When I travel for work, I try and bring them with me but they rarely come on set. I would never drag them along and leave them in a trailer with a box of crayons waiting for mummy.”
