Just hours after breaking up with Kylie Minogue, Olivier Martinez was spotted on a date with a mystery brunette.

The couple’s split was announced on Friday evening (UK time) and just hours later, currently Los Angeles based Olivier was spotted at the Chateau Marmont hotel with the mystery woman. The couple went to a party together at Salma Hayek’s home before leaving separately but both returning to Olivier’s hotel later in the evening.

An onlooker at the hotel told the Sunday Mirror: “You wouldn’t have thought he’d just split with the love of his life. This beautiful woman jumped into his car and they sped off. He looked very comfortable and happy - not remotely upset.”

According to the newspaper, Olivier told his parents explained his split from Kylie saying: “I still feel for her but I’m no longer in love with her. We have been having a lot of rows. We have outgrown each other.”

Another source told the newspaper that the split wasn’t as “mutual and amicable” as the couple’s statement suggested: “Poor Kylie was smitten with Martinez from the moment she first met him and never wanted to let him go. The worse his behaviour got, the more she seemed desperate to make it work. She wanted marriage, children.”

The couple reportedly argued about the prospect of children (she thought it would be better to adopt after her breast cancer but Olivier wanted to have biological children of his own) and Kylie’s workload, and Olivier was recently linked with model Sarai Givati, and last week Michelle Rodriguez: “It’s almost as though he has tried to provoke [Kylie] into dumping him to avoid being labelled ‘the cad who dumped Kylie after her cancer struggle’.”

A source close to Olivier added that the split had been anticipated for a long time. The source told the People newspaper: “Olivier had been trying to cool things for a while. None of his friends and family was surprised when they heard it was over.”

“At the end of the day, he wanted to see other people and didn’t want to stay faithful to Kylie. But Kylie didn’t take the hint, so he broke it to her gently. They are trying to remain friends.”

Kylie’s family are reportedly “sad but relieved” about the end of the relationship. The Sunday Mirror’s source added: “Her parents Ron and Carol felt Olivier had too strong a hold over Kylie and questioned his commitment.”

“They are sad that Kylie has now got to deal with a broken heart on top of everything else.”

“They just want Kylie home now for some TLC. They want to see her happy and contented.”
