Farrah Fawcett gets cancer all-clear after treatment
Farrah Fawcett has been given the all-clear just four months after being diagnosed with cancer.
Farrah was diagnosed with a malignant tumour in her colon in September and underwent surgery and six weeks of radiation therapy to treat the disease.
The news of Farrah’s recovery came on Friday - on Farrah’s 60th birthday. She described it as “an extraordinarily happy day for me and my family.”
She told E! News: “I have been on a journey for the past four months and during this time received a tremendously aggressive treatment which doctors initially warned me would be the most difficult fight of my life.”
“I was told they needed me to ‘bite the bullet’ and that would require great courage and unfailing determination.”
“In the face of excruciating pain and uncertainty, I never lost hope and it never occurred to me to stop fighting - not ever.”
A spokesperson for the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA where Farrah was treated added: “Ms. Fawcett has had a full and complete response to treatment. Her prognosis is excellent.”
