The Kooks frontman Luke Pritchard was surprised to receive a rant in response when he complimented Amy Winehouse recently.

Luke met Amy at a recording of Later with Jools Holland and told her that he liked her new album.

He told the Mirror recently: “All I said to her was that I enjoyed her latest album. And suddenly, out of the blue, she had a really massive go at me.”

“At one point she told me to f****** pull my head out of my arse. It was really weird. Everyone was just standing around looking at her.”

“It’s strange because she was really nice to begin with. But when I went up to her at the photoshoot she suddenly turned really cold. She’s crackers.”

But it’s not soured his opinion of her too much: “I still think she’s great. I didn’t really like her first album but I love her second. She’s got an amazing voice.”
