Beth DittoBeth Ditto has revealed she believes without a doubt that her figure has held her back in the mainstream music world.

The Gossip’s frontwoman was placed number one on the NME’s ‘Cool List’ last year but she thinks weighing 15 stone (210lbs) will always hold her back in today’s skinny obsessed world.

She said recently: “There’s no doubt in my mind that I’ve been held back by not being thin. People say, ‘Don’t you hate yourself? Don’t you care what you look like?’ Who would spend an hour on make-up if they didn’t?”

“I just think it’s such a weird idea that you’re only allowed to get fat if you’re pregnant. You can eat what you want, so long as it’s not for you.”
