• Judi Dench has revealed she won’t be attending the Oscars next week because she’s having an operation - but it doesn’t matter because she’s convinced she won’t win. Speaking at the Berlin Film Festival recently she said: “Don’t put any money on me because you’ll lose. The thing about the Oscars, it’s strange because in the theatre you would say, ‘Break a leg.’ I can’t [go to the awards] because I’m to have a knee operation. I’m going to have my leg broken and put back together. I will watch and cheer from my bed.”
  • Take That’s Gary Barlow is reportedly trying to hide his fame from his children. A friend revealed that up til now it’s been quite easy because the kids are still small but as Gary’s son and daughter get older, it’ll get harder: “He wants to shield them from the Take That madness — but won’t be able to hide the fact he’s in the world’s biggest boy band for much longer.”
  • Dougray Scott and Claire Forlani have revealed they’re planning to marry later this year. Desperate Housewives star Dougray, who divorced his first wife in 2005, said recently: “For a while I wasn’t sure if I wanted to get married again, but then I met the perfect woman. We’re going to get married in the UK this year. We don’t know where yet, but I’m sure it’ll be somewhere special.” The couple met through mutual friends.
