Corinne Bailey Rae: I don’t need the gym, singing isn’t enough
Corinne Bailey Rae has admitted she’s not one for going to the gym because her day job is enough of a workout.
She told The Times recently: “I’m not interested in going to the gym and looking perfect, although I’d like to cycle more.”
“I always went to school on my bike, a violin over the handlebars and my games kit on my back.”
“Nobody realises how physical singing is. Your whole body is involved. Your voice, your lungs, your stomach are pushing the air. Your hands are gesturing and your feet are stamping. I love that.”
“All the nervous energy and adrenalin, it’s the most physical thing I do.”
