Hugh Grant has reportedly gone from not going to being the co-host of Liz Hurley’s wedding reception after splitting up from his girlfriend Jemima Khan at the weekend.

Hugh and Liz were together for 13 years before separating in 2000 and remained close friends afterwards until it reportedly put a strain on Hugh’s relationship with Jemima. According to the Daily Mail, now that Hugh is single again, Liz has roped him in to help with her big day next month.

A friend told the newspaper: “Hugh will be like a co-host alongside the best man on the day. He will be making a speech. It will be a comedy turn, but there will be no little asides or innuendoes about the relationship they had all those years.”

“Hugh and Elizabeth will be going through what is allowed to be said and what is not. Elizabeth does not want to make her new husband feel awkward or embarrassed on their big day.”

“Hugh will joke about how Elizabeth carried on like a right little Hitler when she produced him on Mickey Blue Eyes. He’ll be asking Arun whether he really knows what he’s taking on.”

“To conclude, he will speak of his happiness that Elizabeth has finally found a man who makes her fantastically happy.”

Liz will marry Arun Nayar in Gloucestershire on the 3rd March and the couple will have a second ceremony in Arun’s native India later in the month.
