Sharon StoneSharon Stone has called her role in new film When A Man Falls In The Forest a “watershed experience” because it forced her to think about clinic depression.

Sharon plays a woman who takes up shoplifting because she feels isolated and depressed and speaking at the Berlin Film Festival, she said: “Everybody goes through times in their lives when they feel like they’re disappearing, when they feel like no one is seeing them or hearing them. I certainly think that it’s prevalent in middle age.”

“[Making the film] was a watershed experience for me. I think that we live in a Prozac society where we’re always told we’re supposed to have this kind of equilibrium of emotion. We have all these assignments about how we’re supposed to feel about something.”
