Bobby Brown has been arrested and jailed after failing to pay child support for his two teenage children, LaPrincia and Bobby III.

A warrant was issued for Bobby’s arrest in October over $11,000 of missing payment, with the instruction that he would be arrested the next time he stepped foot in the state of Massachusetts. Bobby was arrested at Attleboro High School on Sunday evening while attending a cheerleading competition in which his daughter was taking part. Sources from the scene report that while he begged police officers to let him watch the competition, he was still “cooperative” when they refused.

Bobby’s attorney Phaedra Parks told TMZ that Bobby has been offered the chance to pay the outstanding debts and avoid jailtime but “Mr. Brown is not financially able to make the payment to court.”

She added that she is making her “best effort” to come to a deal with the court but that the money he earned as a pop star is long gone: “He was an 80s icon, that was 20 years ago.”

Bobby was sentenced to 90 days in prison in 2004 after missing three months of support payments but the sentence was suspended after he made a $15,000 payment to Ward.
