Britney SpearsBritney Spears is reportedly undergoing treatment for both alcohol addiction and drug use during her time at the Promises Center in Malibu.

Britney took her first supervised trip out of the facility yesterday to attend an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in Santa Monica - looking happy but with what looked like ink doodles on her hand - but has also been group therapy sessions within the rehab unit itself.

A source told the Sun that Britney is not finding the sessions easy: “She was having a tough time. I think she is having trouble confronting her problem.”

In related news, more details have emerged from Britney’s visit to the Mondrian Hotel almost a fortnight ago.

A wig-wearing Britney tried to check into the hotel the day after she shaved her head but was denied a room due to a lack of credit cards or cash. Instead she walked through the hotel to the pool and stripped down into her bra and knickers before going onto the pool bathroom to shave her legs.

A source has now told Us Weekly that Britney struck up a conversation with another woman in the restroom: “It was sad. It looked like she really needed a friend.”

The woman then offered to loan Britney a spare bikini and the two headed up to the woman’s room - where Britney then raided the minibar for alcohol: “She grabbed four or five bottles and just started mixing everything and drinking them.”

Britney and her new friend then returned to the poolside for a spot of sunbathing and posing for photographs.
